IMHO the biggest reason to back up nowadays is the increasing prevalence of ransomware, but there's a catch - if you can get to those backups when ransomware hits, so can the ransomware.
BitReplica is a file backup app - as opposed to disk/partition image backups - & the couple few reviews I found were positive.
